The Los Angeles Rams are based in Los Angeles, California and play their home games inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Rams are members of the National Football Conference (NFC), playing in the NFC West Division.

The Rams franchise was born in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, where the team played for their first ten years of existence. The team moved to Los Angeles in 1946 after winning the 1945 NFL Championship game. The Rams remained in Los Angeles until 1995 when the team packed up and moved to St. Louis, Missouri. The team would remain in St. Louis until the end of the 2015 season when it again moved back to Los Angeles.

The Rams have won three NFL championships, and are currently the only franchise in league history to win championships while representing three different cities. The Rams won the 1945 NFL Championship while representing Cleveland, the 1951 NFL Championship while representing Los Angeles and the 1999 Super Bowl while representing St. Louis. In all, the Rams have also won twenty Division championships and seven Conference championships as they enter the 2019 season.

Despite calling three separate cities home in their history, the Rams have always been thought of as one of the more successful franchises in the NFL. Perhaps the most famous eras for the Rams franchise came in the late 1990s and early 2000s with legendary head coach Dick Vermeil as head coach and the team playing in St. Louis. The 1999 Rams began the era of the Rams known as The Greatest Show on Turf as the team scored 526 points on their way to a Super Bowl XXXIV victory. The Rams offense was led by Kurt Warner, who entered the season as the team’s backup before Trent Green was injured in the preseason. Warner threw 41 touchdown passes that season, with Marshall Faulk adding an NFL record 2,429 yards from scrimmage to go with 26 total touchdowns.

Currently, the Los Angeles Rams are led by head coach Sean McVay, who is the youngest coach to lead an NFL team to a Super Bowl appearance. The Rams fell in Super Bowl XIV to the New England Patriots in 2018.
