The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the American League (AL) East division. As one of the American League's eight charter teams in 1901, this franchise spent its first year as a major league club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the Milwaukee Brewers before moving to St. Louis, Missouri, to become the St. Louis Browns from 1902 thru 1953.
After 52 years in St. Louis, the franchise was relocated to Baltimore for the 1954 season and has been there ever since.
The Orioles have won ten division championships, seven American League pennants, three wild card berths resulting in three wins and three World Series Championships. They won the World Series in 1966,1970 and 1983.
