However, Mikan retired in 1954 and the Lakers began to see their first season of struggle. By 1960, the owner decided to move west, and the Lakers became the first West Coast team in pro basketball.
The Los Angeles Lakers are known for their iconic purple and gold uniforms, and for their tradition of fielding some of the best basketball players in the world. Throughout their history, the Lakers have had a number of legendary players on their roster, including Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, and Wilt Chamberlain, among others. During the NBA Bubble in 2020, LeBron and the Lakers dominated. They would go on to beat Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in six games, securing LeBron his fourth NBA Championship.
