You can find any seat anywhere in the stadium to suit your needs. There are four designated levels with sections in each of them. The View Level consists of View Box and View Reserved. The Lexus Level has three sections: Lexus Infield, Lexus Outfield and Craft and Draft. The tier with the most options is the Field/Plaza Level. This features the Dugout Box, Dugout Plaza, Field Box, Field Plaza, Outfield Box, Outfield Plaza, Fountain Seats and Rivals tables. Lastly, the Premium Seating is the top notch spots with Bats Crown Club, Diamond Club Box, and Diamond Club Seats.
Although it may be the highest point of Kauffman, you're bound to have a great time! Everything is accessible right by this tier: bathrooms, food, drinks and fan zone areas. One of the great aspects of the View Level is the shade the top cover provides. When it's the dead heat of the summer, you CAN beat the heat and sit here and manage to avoid the sun.
The Lexus level has all the suites, club level seating and more. One of it's best features is the Craft and Draft section. There are over 75 beers available here as well as signature food items. It is a first come, first serve section. If you want a table here and a view of the game, hurry in to get seated quickly.
On this level, you can find it all. The Outfield Experience is the best place when your kids are tagging along. There's a stage for live music, a playground, carousel, mini golf, batting cages and more! For the adults, there's the Blue Moon Taproom and other bars you can post up at and grab a few drinks and enjoy the game from the outfield. The other ends of this tier are behind first and third plate. You can't go wrong with any seats in the section!
If you're looking to pamper yourself or those Royals fans in your life, the Premium Seating is a wonderful experience. From all-inclusive options and/or private concession stands, this area is a great time but can be costly. However, it is worth every penny to sit right behind home plate and hear the sounds of the ball smashing into the catcher's mit.
Kansas City Royals History
After the Kansas City Athletics moved to Oakland, it was time to start thinking about a new MLB team to come on the scene. With the help of an insistent senator, Stuart Symington, he threatened the MLB into adding a new baseball team to Kansas City by the next season in 1969. Soon, the MLB caved and allowed for new teams to come into the league. And so... the bidding began for who would claim the new team.
Ewing Kauffman won the bidding war and began a contest for the best name to call his team. It was an Overland Park resident who entered the name "Royals" into the contest. In a 6 to 1 vote of the board, the Kansas City Royals were created. It is believed that Ewing Kauffman was the one disagreeing vote, but after making a connection to the Kansas City Monarchs, he allowed for the name and the KC Royals took off.
In 1969, the first pitch crossed the plate, thrown by Wally Bunker. With a compatible team, consisting of Rookie of the Year Lou Piniella, the Royals finished fifth in the league. The following year, KC legend, Amos Otis, joined the Kansas City Royals. Switching from Municipal Stadium to the new and upscale Royals Stadium, the Royals made a name for themselves for their ability to play and their fast track to becoming a competitive team in the MLB. In 1973, the iconic powder blue uniforms were introduced.
Although 1976 didn't turn into a World Series Championship, but they were competitors to the New York Yankees for the AL Championship Series. However, from these series, emerged a Kansas City Royals superstar, George Brett. In the 1978 Series with the Yankees, Brett homered three times, still falling short of the crown but yet became a city hero. By 1980, in another ALCS match with the Yankees, the Royals finally shook them and swept them in three games. The Kansas City Royals were the 1980 AL Champions but lost in their first World Series to the Phillies.
Back in 1985, the Royals had turned over a new lead amid past scandals, trades and hirings and started the season ready to play. The "I-70 Series" made headlines everywhere as the AL Royals and the NL St. Louis Cardinals played for the Series Championship. With controversial calls and tension as the two Missouri teams competed, the Royals took home the Championship and truly wore the Royal Crown of the MLB.
In 2014, the Royals made a much needed run to the AL Championship and won and carried into the World Series but fell short of the crown. After many losing seasons in years prior, the 2014 season spiked some ambition in the Royals. By 2015, the Royals had the team, experience and confidence to compete and outlast other teams. Against the New York Mets, the Kansas City Royals took home the World Series Championship in six games.
