The Golden State Warriors were founded in 1946 in Philadelphia and was originally known as the Philadelphia Warriors. They moved to San Francisco in 1962 and then to Oakland in 1971, where they played until 2019. Once they moved to the Golden State, it was 1971 when the team decided to declare their name "The Golden State Warriors." In 2019, they moved back to San Francisco.

With Thompson set to come back for the 2021-2022 campaign, the Warriors look ready to challenge for the Western Conference Championship.
