Company History

The story of Tickets For Less began in 2004 with the purchase of a set of Kansas Jayhawks basketball tickets. As a Jayhawks fan, Dan Rouen, founder, and president of Tickets For Less, had bought the tickets hoping to see another great game at Allen Fieldhouse. When Dan found himself unable to attend the game, he took to eBay to ensure the tickets got used, and to his surprise, his posting garnered a lot of interest. As he began to understand the ticketing world and build a customer base on the idea of not charging extra website and service fees, Tickets For Less was born.

In 2006, Tickets For Less (TFL) opened its first retail location in Overland Park, Kan., selling tickets without service fees. Since that first location opened, TFL has grown from a small ticket reseller to become a top 10 national wholesale ticket company that is in the top 1% of secondary market sellers nationally, building a team of nearly 100 employees. Tickets For Less now has its national headquarters in Kansas City, and additional retail offices in Omaha, Neb., St. Louis, Mo. and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

As the ticketing industry has evolved, Tickets For Less has become as much of a technology company as it is a ticketing company, selling millions of tickets across the country each year. This is done by creating extensive partnerships with venues, colleges, professional teams, and rights holders to procure inventory and make it available to our loyal customer base below industry standard prices.

In the latter part of 2020, Tickets For Less acquired Ticket Solutions, and announced it would operate the business-to-business operations under the Ticket Solutions brand in August of 2021. The acquisition of Ticket Solutions has helped to expand market share in hospitality, fan travel, corporate ticketing, and premium experience segments. Pairing the extensive partnerships that Tickets For Less has acquired across the live sports and music industry with Ticket Solutions’ technology and automation has created synergies and incremental value for the company’s partners, clients, and customers.
