Company History

Our company's story begins in 2004 with the purchase of a set of Kansas Jayhawks basketball tickets. As a Jayhawks fan, Dan Rouen, our company's founder, bought the tickets hoping to see another great game at Allen Fieldhouse. When Dan found himself unable to attend the game, he took to eBay to recoup the cost of the KU tickets. To his surprise, he made a profit from the resale of his tickets. As he began to understand the ticketing world and build a customer base Tickets For Less was born.

In 2006, Tickets For Less opened its first retail location in Overland Park, KS. As the business has grown and industry shifts have occurred (such as the introduction of mobile ticketing), Tickets For Less has become as much of a technology company as it has a ticketing company, selling millions of tickets across the country and managing over $80M in ticket inventory. Tickets For Less partners with venues, colleges, professional teams and rights holders to procure inventory to make available to its loyal customer base. Additionally, Tickets For Less has become a top 15 national wholesale ticketing company partnering with the largest ticket marketplaces in the world including TicketMaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats, and SeatGeek.

Tickets For Less is proud to say that we are a homegrown, Kansas City-based industry leader, with local roots and a national presence. Tickets For Less is in the top 1% of secondary market sellers nationally. There are now 40+ employees at Tickets For Less who are all committed to providing high-quality service and memories for life which our customers have come to rely on over the last 16 years.
