The Indiana Pacers were founded in 1967, the Pacers were first members of the ABA before the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. Their team’s name was inspired by the state’s infamous Indianapolis 500 and the pace cars used in the race. The Pacers were founded in 1967 as an expansion team and have since become one of the most successful franchises in NBA history. In total, the Pacers have won nine division titles with three in the ABA and six in the NBA, one conference title in 2000, and three Championships as part of the ABA.
The Pacers are known for their tough, hard-nosed style of play, and have had many notable players throughout their history, including Reggie Miller, Jermaine O'Neal, Paul George, and Victor Oladipo.
Currently, the Indiana Pacers are led by All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis, Malcom Brogdon, Myles Turner, and Caris LeVert. With such a young core of solid players, the Pacers will look to challenge their division rival Milwaukee Bucks for not only their division title but the Eastern Conference Championship as well.
