A small-town girl from Reading, Pennsylvania, Taylor Swift worked hard to become the girl she is today. After visiting countless music managers, meetings, record auditions and more, Taylor landed a deal Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records. She released her first album, Taylor Swift, in 2006. After the release, she went 157 weeks on the Billboard 200. By 2008, Swift had many accolades under her belt: CMA's Horizon Award for Best New Artist, ACMA's Top New Female Vocalist, and Grammy Award Best New Artist nomination.
In November 2008, her album, Fearless, released and became an instant hit. Peaking at number two with "You Belong with Me" on the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself, ran to number one on the Billboard 200 and became the top-selling album of 2009. In the same year, Taylor Swift became famous for more than just her music. At the MTV Music Awards, "You Belong with Me" won MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video but upon receiving the award, Kanye West jumped in to show his support for Beyoncé over Taylor. This incident became headline news for weeks and remained relevant for years to come. The feud between the two became a household conversation and everyone wanted to know more. However, Taylor got the last laugh when she won five AMA awards: Artist of the Year and Favorite Country Album (to name a few). To rub it in some more, Swift earned Album of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards for Fearless. She was the youngest artist to win this award.
Fast-forward a few albums, Swift gained a vast amount of success and recognition after she released 1989 in 2014. She hit a Guinness World Record for selling three albums with over one million copies sold in the opening week. 1989 became Swift's album leaning more toward pop than country but the singer was met with excitement and fans worldwide for her transformation from country. Taylor Swift won Billboards Woman of the Year in 2014 and was the first artist to win the award twice.
Swifts albums, Red and Reputation, continued to push Swift in her road to stardom, although she achieved mass success and stardom back in 2006. Now, Swift is embarking on her Reputation Stadium Tour. Don't miss Swift taking on city by city in stadiums around the world!
