The Tours

PBR Built Ford Tough series

Known as the "major league" tour of PBR, this tour visits various cities throughout the year. The ending goal is to make it to the PBR World Finals which is developed based on winners of PBR BFTS. The World Finals is held in Las Vegas on the trip at T-Mobile Arena. The BFTS is established with the 35 best riders in the league. The riders with the most points move on to the next. Riders can be one of the 35 based on wins and championships in a minor league tour.

PBR Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour

The Velocity Tour is PBR's premier expansion tour. In 2016, Real Time Pain Relief became the major entitlement sponsor and thus developed the PBR and Real Time Pain Relief partnership. The Velocity Tour began in 2014 and is made up of up-and-coming bull riding talent and superstars. It is projected to increase the tour to the cities visited every year. The RTP Velocity Tour winners feed into the Built Ford Tough Series and then the riders compete in that series ultimately trying to reach the World Finals.

Professional Bull Riders Association History

PBR is centered around a grueling eight seconds of a cowboy facing a 2,000-pound bull in the competition to stay on the animal's back until the horn sounds. 1992 was the founding year of PBR. As 20 bull riders met and consulted a plan to change the rodeo scene to more of a competition, each of the riders pooled together $1000 per person, to stray away from the typical rodeo format and move its own sport and move to major cities around the U.S.

The contest is between the cowboy and the bull, yet each cowboy then competes the final score against other riders. The bull, toughest bulls are put up against the toughest riders and the bull has eight second to buck off the cowboy, otherwise the cowboy wins. The cowboy is judged based on style, time on the bull, and more. Grown from 20 to more than 600 riders total worldwide, PBR is fast growing and moving throughout cities and arenas.

After weeks of competing and fighting to battle the bulls and other cowboys, the final competition comes with the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas. This championship series is the richest competition of all bull riding events on the planet. The winner receives the famous World Championship belt buckle, $1,000,000 bonus among many other prize winnings.

The fanbase is ever growing. In 1995, there were only 310,000 fans. Now, there are over three million fans and counting. With the danger, competitive nature of the cowboys and bulls, prize money, and excitement, PBR is continually developing more involvement and interest from fans from cities nationwide and countries worldwide.
