Keith Urban Biography
A New Zealand native, Keith Urban grew up in Australia and grew to love American music. With his own sound of country and rock, he gained success in Aussie in the late 1980's. Keith went to Nashville and joined a band called, The Ranch. There, the group made a name for themselves and landed some success. From there, Keith decided to go after a solo career. He was able to successful branch out on his own and released a No. 1 hit single, "But for the Grace of God" in 2000.
His second album, released a year later, contained hit singles "Somebody Like You" and "Who Wouldn't Want to Be Me." This lead him to wide success and earned him Top New Male Vocalist at the CMA's. By 2004, Urban toured the nation and earned Entertainer of the Year at the CMA's and Male Vocalist of the Year.
By 2006, He won his first Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for "You'll Think of Me." He went on to win another Male Vocalist of the Year at the CMA's. He won another Grammy in 2008 for his album, Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing. His next album, Defying Gravity peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. "Sweet Thing" was a hit single from the album and earned Urban another Grammy in 2010.
Within the past few years, Keith released his ninth album, Ripcord in which he collaborated with artists such as Carrie Underwood and Pitbull. In went Platinum in 2017. Now, Keith is touring the nation again and bringing his most popular songs to you in your city!
